About 45 shows housefull in a week in the theaters of Rajkot
Rajkot: The new year has come to an end in the cinema industry which has been dying due to the onslaught of Corona and social media. Newly released Hindi films on Diwali festivities have received a huge response. After a long time, there were queues in theaters in Rajkot to get tickets for the film. Thousands of people are finding employment in the new year as the cinema industry is revived.
Leaders associated with the Gujarat Film Industry Association said that the cinema industry has been hit hard by Corona in the last two years. As many as 50 per cent of the theaters' shutters have fallen off, the survivors are barely moving, but the films released in the new year have received a good response. People who are tired of Corona have come to the theaters to watch movies. At present there are only two single screen theaters in Rajkot. There are currently five shows running in one theater. During Diwali and New Year days, 35 show houses were full in one week. Such a situation was observed after a long time. It has also been a long time since you have to make a recommendation phone call to get tickets.
Theaters have now reopened in most of the states, including Mumbai, and the film industry has been revived with the commencement of filming and revisions. The government has not given any big relief package to the cinema industry in the Corona era but if people are tired of sitting at home now, the cinema industry has got the benefit. According to theater operators, small business owners are associated with the cinema industry.
