The Sports Authority of Gujarat has constructed state-of-the-art sports hostel buildings in 12 different districts of the state of Gujarat to provide the players with a formal technique to advance in the field of sports. The first sports hostel in Rajkot has been built in front of the Ruda building near the collector's office. The building was inaugurated last year. It was to be held on the occasion of Sports Day on 29th August. It was also planned that the building would be opened by the then Chief Minister Vijaybhai Rupani. But since the inauguration due to administrative reasons, the government has changed and the readymade hostel building has not been inaugurated till date. Sources added that a fire safety certificate has been applied for. The hostel has a lift. One month has passed since the onset of winter. But when will this government hostel building start?
