Ram undertook two major long journeys on foot, one to Sri Lanka and the other to Janakpuri, visiting a cool 290 places. When Rama and Lakshmana were sent by Maharaja Dasaratha to Maharishi Vishwamitra as teenagers, Vishwamitra accepted King Janaka's invitation and went to Janakpuri, a journey in which Rama visited 41 places. This time, the demons Tadka and Subaho were killed and Ahalya was rescued.
After reaching Sri Lanka on foot during the 14 years of exile, there were 249 important places to stay on the way. This journey is across the ocean from north to south of India, the route of this journey is more than 3322 km. Rama's exile used to travel to the ashrams of the sages who were many times superior to today's supreme learned scientists and mainly along the river banks. Rama passed through rivers including Gomati, Sarayu, Gangaji, Yamunaji, Mandakini, Ken, Narmada, Son, Mahanadi, Indravati, Godavari, Kapilai, Bhima, Tungabhadra, Kaveri.
During his exile, Ram traveled from Ayodhya to Chitrakoot, Chitrakoot to Sutikshana Ashram, from there to Dandakavan, Panchavati, Lanka with his stay. It is said that during his exile he traveled to 9 states Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Odisha, Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and before that he traveled to a total of 10 states including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar state during Janakpuri Yatra.
Gujarat is not mentioned in this list, but according to the website of Dang District Administration, Shabridham is located at a distance of 4 km from Subir village in Saputara taluka of Dang district of Gujarat, where Lord Ram gave darshan to devotee Shabri who had been waiting for him for years during his exile. At this place There is also a Shabri Mandir built in 2004 and at a distance of 6 km from this Shabridham is the Pampa Sarovar which is mentioned in the Ramayana and has been believed by the people for thousands of years. On the other hand, some also say that Pampa Sarovar came to the state of Karnataka. Not only this, there is a village and mountain named Anjan in Dang district where people believe that Marutinandan Ramabhakta Hanumanji was born.
