Jamnagar, Wadinar: A team of LCB raided a wadi in Bawaridad village of Jamjodhpur taluk last night based on a tip-off that gambling was going on. Eight card lovers, including a woman who was playing gambling, were picked up. And cash amount of Rs.20 lakhs, two cars, mobile phones and goods worth Rs.106 lakhs have been seized from them. While Kajurda village was also raided for gambling.
Gambling is going on in the partnership wadi of Ranabhai Gagia located on the outskirts of Bavaridad village of Jamjodhpur taluk. And card lovers including men and women from Jamnagar city district as well as Khambhaliya, Kalyanpur and Bhanwad parishes of Devbhoomi Dwarka district are gathering and playing gambling.
On the basis of specific information, the LCB squad raided last night. During the raid, 8 card lovers including a woman were found gambling. The LCB team has arrested Sanjay Kishorebhai Sitapara of Bavaridad village, Jayesh Bhayabhai Bela of Kalyanpur, Nathubhai Naranbhai Kambariya of Khambhalia, Bhavesh Jayantibhai Joshi of Kalyanpur Panthak, Murtja Kasambahi Khira of Kansumra village of Jamnagar taluk, Bhanwad businessman Vimal Vallabhbhai Padlia, Jamnagar from the spot. Arsibhai Samatbhai Nandania living in Gokulnagar of the city and Andhashram Gate in Jamnagar Krishnaben Papatbhai Parmar, who lives in the nearby residence, was kidnapped. Property worth Rs 2 lakh was seized from them.
Police arrested Suresh Dagra along with Teja Pala Dagarakhambalia taluka Wadinar seat member Malsi Kheta Dhaya, Vijay Ala Mantag and Puna Bhura Rathod from the gambling den run by a 4-year-old man named Suresh Dhanabhai Dagra living near a government school in Kajurda village of Khambhaliya taluk. Five persons named were arrested. From these arrested persons, the police collected Rs. 48,800 cash three mobile phones found total Rs. P4,800 seized, PIBJ under section of Gambling Act. Action was taken by the doctor and staff.
