A bribe was demanded in return for canceling one of the two PAN cards

ACB had set a trap at the Income Tax office in Dwarka itself, the accused had initially demanded Rs.10 thousand as penalty.

Rajkot: Dwarka's Income Tax Inspector Sunil Arvindkumar Meena was arrested today by ACB red-handed for accepting a bribe of Rs.3 thousand. A bribe was demanded in return for canceling one of the two PAN cards. As a result of which, after receiving the complaint, ACB set up a trap at the Dwarka Income Tax office itself.

According to ACB sources, the complainant had produced the PAN card. After it was lost, a second PAN card was issued online. After that, when the lost PAN card was found, two PAN cards were made. So I contacted Income Tax Inspector Sunil Meena at the Income Tax office at Dwarka to cancel the new PAN card.

Who said forcefully that you can be punished with penalty and imprisonment for having two PAN cards, against which the complainant said that he did not get any such notice, he himself came to cancel the second PAN card. Despite this, Meena said that she will have to pay a penalty of Rs.10 thousand. A bribe of Rs.3 thousand was demanded if the penalty was not to be paid.

But since the prosecutor did not want to pay bribe, ACB Rajkot Unit in-charge Assistant Director K.H. Gohil was contacted. Based on this, police inspector R. in charge of ACB of Devbhoomi Dwarka. N. Virani had set a trap at the Income Tax office in Dwarka.

Where after a purposeful conversation with the complainant, Inspector Meena was caught red-handed taking a bribe of Rs.3 thousand. ACB has filed a case against him and continued further action as per rules. Inspector Meena is a class-3 employee.
