The price of cotton in Rajkot will be Rs 2,100 now
One by one, every industry, in the face of rising prices, the price of handkerchiefs has gone up by 20 per cent, raw materials including khadi and denim will become more expensive, a 20 per cent increase has been made.
Rajkot: Earlier, all the raw materials including steel, cement, sand and gravel in the iron, brass, taboo and construction industries became expensive, but now cotton is booming and so is clothing. Today, the price of 20 manas of cotton at Rajkot Yard reached a high of 2100 for the first time.
Despite the significant revenue of 5.60 lakh kg of cotton per yard, the deals were done at a price of Rs.150-6100.
Gandhiji chanted the mantra of adopting khadi to make the country self-reliant and even today khadi is prevalent among the people, the sale of khadi garments has increased even in the Koro period. The prices of khadi garments have not gone up since June 2020, but now the price of cotton is on the rise. There have been reports of denim as well as other clothing products being hit by the price hike. Small units have to be shut down by increasing production costs by twenty-five to thirty per cent or there is a need to reduce production.
In Rajkot, hosiery traders have hiked the prices of napkins, towels, handkerchiefs, etc. by as much as 30 per cent. It is worth mentioning that cotton is used in readymade garments ranging from bandages or masks worn on the part of the body which are made of cotton.
