Rajkot, : Two young women drowned in the Aaji Dam in Rajkot this evening and their families were left in a dark state. These two Nepali girls went to bathe in Aji Dam along with other children. A child died after his foot slipped in the river in Lodhika.

According to the information received, two young girls of a Nepalese family living in Samrat Industrial Area on Gondal Road and working in a factory located there and four children living next door went to bathe in Aji Dam this evening.

While enjoying a bath in the area behind the Sunday bazaar in Aji Dam, the two young women started drowning and the children accompanying them were terrified.

A person named Rajubhai, who was present at the spot, informed the fire brigade and the swimmers of the Bedipara fire brigade rushed to the spot. He started a search and got both the young women out. But even before that both Taruni Hir alias Hira Dipakbhai Parihar (12 AD) and Mamata Bahadur Parihar (13 AD) had died.

On being informed, the Aji Dam police staff reached the spot and took necessary action. Immediately the parents of the dead girls were stunned with shock. Both the deceased went with the young women, two Taniyas and a baby girl. There is deep water where both the deceased girls had gone to bathe, but being unaware of it and unable to swim, the victim was killed.

When the two sons of Rameshbhai Sangod, a migrant living in the wadi of Dholra village of Lodhika, Toko (age 5) and Kalam (age 5) went to play in the river near the wadi yesterday. While playing, his foot slipped and he drowned. The family came running on being informed. After starting a search in the Tatkal river, Mahamahenat took out the fish and moved it to Rajkot Civil. Where he died. The deceased was the middle of three brothers and one sister. Lodhika police registered an accidental death and investigated.
