Junagadh News: In the vicinity of Khadiya village near Junagadh, while trying to hunt a peacock sitting on a power line, a leopard got stuck in the power line and died on the spot. Regarding this incident, the forest department has gone to the spot of the incident and removed the dead body of the leopard and shifted it for postmortem.

There are frequent incidents of wild animals dying due to electrocution, including cases where wild animals have died while trying to hunt. The forest department was informed by the locals about the early morning leopard hanging dead on the wire on the power pole with transformer in the field of Khadiya village on Junagadh Bilkha road. Later, the forest department staff immediately reached the spot.

A ghatadar tree is located right next to the electric wire on which the leopard was hanging dead. The forest department speculates that the leopard, hiding in the tree, jumped from the tree to hunt the peacock sitting on the power line but the peacock flew away and the panther got stuck in the power line. At present, only the dead body of the leopard has been recovered from the incident site.

The body of the leopard was taken down from the power line and shifted to Sarkarbagh Zoo in Junagadh for the PM. The report also revealed that the cause of death of the leopard was electrocution. The forest department has conducted further investigation after a three- to four-year-old female leopard lost its life while trying to hunt.
