- 18 sq.m. on University Road so as not to be regularized with impact fee. The additional construction was demolished, the West Zone Office issued a notice of Section 260(1).

- Actions taken by the city engineer, who was earlier working under Sagthiya, following the complaints of the people and the green signal by the office-bearers.

Rajkot: The suspended TPO, who is currently in jail for the crime of culpable homicide in connection with the illegal construction of TRP Gamezone in Rajkot and the triple crime of creating false government records to cover up this crime and misappropriation of Rs.27 crores of benami cash and property. The municipality has issued a notice to demolish the illegal construction of the disputed bungalow, which is said to belong to M.D. Sagathiya.

Bhavnaben C. Sadia's name as the owner in this bungalow of former TPO is mentioned in the Manpapa book, according to which the 18 sq.m. brick structure was demolished against the building plan in this bungalow being newly built in Anamika Society-6 on University Road in that name. A notice has been issued under Section 260(1) of the GPMC Act. In addition, Kuntesh Mehta, the in-charge city engineer of Westzone, said that if this illegal construction without permission is not demolished, it will be demolished under police supervision. The construction being new cannot be regularized under the Impact Fee Act.

It is worth mentioning that when Sagthiya was arrested, the residents of Latta had made open complaints about the illegal construction of Sagthiya, but no action was taken by the Municipal Corporation at that time due to unknown reasons. Now it is known that the action has been taken after receiving the green signal of the office bearers. Mehta, the in-charge city engineer, was earlier serving as an assistant to Sagathia as ATP.

The fact that Saghathia, who was appointed TPO by the BJP rulers, served in this important position for ten years and himself allowed the illegal construction shows the extent to which such corruption would have flourished in the past.
