Rajkot: In the last one month in the rural areas of Saurashtra, the political atmosphere has been conducive to the election of Gram Panchayats. Crowds of people will gather at the counting place at village and taluka level from this morning and the victory will be celebrated as soon as the results are declared.

The results of 1945 Gram Panchayat elections of eight districts including Rajkot, Jamnagar, Junagadh, Amreli, Porbandar will be declared, Ther Ther Vijayotsav will be celebrated. Counting will begin at 9 a.m. The fate of the Sarpanch and the leaders who have been working hard for the membership for a long time will be decided by the voters tomorrow. In Saurashtra, the verdict of about 25 lakh voters for their village representative will be announced.

MLAs and MPs also took interest in Gram Panchayat elections in Saurashtra districts including Rajkot, Amreli, Jamnagar, Junagadh, Porbandar, Gir Somnath. A network is being set up for the Assembly elections. The counting of votes will continue till late night as the ballot papers have been cast. Strict police arrangements have been made to prevent clashes in the villages over the election results.
