Water supply board engineer arrested in Rajkot for taking bribe of Rs 25,000

Anti-Corruption Bureau nabbed Sandeep Hemchandra Joshi (U.V.2), a Class-II officer of the Water Supply Board, for taking a bribe of Rs. Is. Corruption of 3% of the work amount was exposed in the PP board.
Accused Sandeep Joshi serves in Vinchia as a deputy executive engineer who was given additional charge of Jasdan office. In Ajmerpara village of Vinchia taluka, a tender of Rs. 3.5 lakh was approved by a contractor for RCC pump with capacity of 60 thousand liters and pump house of two meter size, PVC pipeline. The first bill amount of Rs.2.50 lakh was paid to the plaintiff on completion of the work on 3-11, but the accused Sandeep Joshi demanded a bribe of Rs.2000 at 2% for approving the second Rs.2,01,31. . At the end of the day, the amount of the bribe was fixed at Rs.
The contractor applied to the ACB instead of paying a bribe. According to which, Inspector RR Solanki had set a trap and the accused engineer Joshi has been caught accepting Rs 5,000 cash near the gate of the racecourse. The accused was produced in court today and remanded for three days for further investigation.
