People generally avoid visiting Girnar during the scorching heat of summer as the temperature in Girnar is three to five degrees higher than Junagadh city in summer. If it is winter then Girnar is colder than Junagadh city and if it is summer season then Girnar is hotter than Junagadh city. It feels more hot because of climbing stairs. Due to many such reasons Girnar vacancy is observed during summer season. Pilgrims who want to visit Girnar in summer start climbing Girnar early in the morning or late in the evening so that they can do the pilgrimage in cool weather. First-time pilgrims to Girnar are not aware of the heat of Girnar in the summer season. So they slowly start climbing the stairs of Girnar. But now it is also happening that those who climb fifty-hundred steps immediately stop their journey due to the extreme feeling of heat. Bhavnath foothills can be seen during the summer days. Some shops are also closed during the day. A large number of Junagadh residents reach the foothills of Bhavnath to cool off at night in Bhavnath.

Being made of igneous rocks, Girnar is very hot
