Lok Mela in Rajkot: During the seventh-eighth festival in the state, Lok Mela is held in some areas of Saurashtra including Surendranagar, Dhrangadhra, Rajkot, Dharohar Lok Mela in Rajkot was opened for five days by the Cabinet Minister Raghavji Patel. However, keeping in mind the strict stance of the High Court after the TRP zone tragedy in Rajkot and for the safety of the people, the Lok Mela has been started without rides this time. On the other hand, the stall holders closed the stalls raising the slogan of boycotting the Lok Mela without the rides starting. While former Chief Minister Vijay Rupani said that this time the fair will be a little pale.

Rides will be allowed if you follow the rules

Inaugurating the Lok Mela in the district, Rajkot Minister in-charge and Agriculture Minister Raghavji Patel said, 'Rides will be allowed if the organizers of the fair follow the rules and regulations keeping in mind the safety of the people. While discussing with the Rajkot administration to start mechanical rides, instructions will be given.

What did former Chief Minister Vijay Rupani say?

Former Chief Minister Vijay Rupani said, 'Rides have not been allowed in the fair this time. Technical approval was not obtained for fixing the norms of rides. After the TRP zone tragedy in Rajkot, keeping in mind the strict attitude of the High Court and for the safety of the people, the Lok Mela has been started without rides this time. This time, the fair will be a bit quieter, without the rides, the boys will have fun, and the fun of going around in the merry-go-round will be seen.

Anger among stall holders over approval of rides

When the rides were not allowed in the Rajkot fair, there was anger among the stall holders. In which a stall holder said, 'There should not be a fair without Chakardi, so that we do not do business and we boycott the Lok Mela together with all the stall holders. We have already given the money to the government and if the rides are not started, we will not do business.'
