Controversy over Seva Setu programs will be held despite implementation of code of conduct



Rajkot: Controversy has erupted in the state over the Seva Setu programs between the Gram Panchayat election code of conduct. After the election was declared, as per the directions of the commission, each district administration had issued a circular to the taluka authority not to hold service bridge programs in urban and rural areas only five days after issuing circulars and now orders have been issued at taluka level to hold programs.

The seventh phase of Seva Setu programs is currently underway. Camps are conducted in each taluka covering different villages throughout the year. If there is a large taluka, 8 to 10 camps are conducted throughout the year. One camp covers seven to eight villages. The program is usually held in the presence of local legislators and office bearers and the leaders also give speeches.

It has again issued a circular on December 1 instructing to continue the service bridge programs. Meanwhile, the Leader of Opposition of Rajkot District Panchayat has been making partisan speeches from the stage in the program of Seva Setu.
