Municipal Corporation spends the work of digging lake in Rajkot in Smart City work!

In the answer to the question asked in the general meeting, not a single important work has been completed in 5 years, the board remained silent on the issue of penalty for delay in Atal Sarovar and infrastructure

Rajkot: Five years ago, Rajkot was declared as a smart city before the Prime Minister arrived in the city for the inauguration, but as the mission draws to a close, some of the billions of works already undertaken on the Rs. If it had not happened, two small natural lakes would have been dug deep in the Raiya area.

The state government is undertaking the work of deepening the lakes under the Sujalam Sufalam scheme and today the Chief Minister has started the fifth phase of this work from Kolwada village as a program and the work of deepening the lakes has been going on for decades.

Today, the commissioner told the corporators in the Jan. Board that out of Rs.1000 crore so far, only Rs. A grant of Rs 561 crore has been received. A total of 13 works worth Rs. 1035 crore have been undertaken, out of which 6 works have been completed. Other completed works include only hydraulic platform, 250 kV solar and I-Way project announced by MNP before the Smart City Mission came into existence.

But, actually Rs. The corporators did not ask today about the completion of 100 crore works out of 1025 crore due to lack of information. 69 crore work is the work of CCTV camera before Smart City!

The Municipal Corporation sanctioned Rs 139 crore for Atal Sarovar (lake) of the city, Rs 136 crore was given to Cube Construction but the agency was not penalized despite the delay. Similarly, Rs 3 crore infrastructure work was awarded to a single agency L&T. Milestones were also missed but no penalty has been imposed yet. And now half of the lake works are shown to be completed by two parts of unfinished works (development and dredging near the lake) when in fact the development of the lake means all the work including cleaning it, dredging, repairing the embankment.
