- The mail sent by the devotees is read to the grandfather by the priest daily: Today on Ganesh Chaturthi, a yajna of 1008 modaks will be held in the temple.

Dhak, : Ganeshotsav is starting from Tuesday. The ancient Siddhi Vinayak temple in the historical Dhak village of Upleta taluka on Tuesday. 19 Angarak Ganesh Chaturthi will be celebrated grandly. This ancient temple is known for its Aneri tradition. Here the devotees send their wishes, sorrows and pains by mail. Mails keep coming to the temple throughout the year.

Dkhana Ganesha temple is considered among the oldest temples of Saurashtra. An ancient temple of Ganapati Dada is situated near Dhakna bus stand. Bhadarwa Sud Choth means Ganapati Bapa's birthday is celebrated here. On this auspicious day, 1008 Modak Yajnas are organized from 9 am to 1 pm after early morning aarti at the ancient Siddhi Vinayaka temple in Dakhana. Food prasad is also organized from 11.30 am to 1.30 pm. On the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, the Ganesh temple is now lit up with flowers, dhaja pataka and other decorations of lights.

Here in the Ganesh temple there is a very ancient and self-contained idol of Lord Ganesha. Here Ganesha's vehicle is lion. Which proves that this idol is mythological. There is a legend that Pandavas also performed puja here.

The special feature of this temple is that if any devotees cannot come here in person, they send their wishes and sorrows to the Ganesh temple by post from their homes. Daily mails are received here from many countries as well as abroad. Every day, the temple priest Bharatgiriji Dayagiriji Goswami reads the mail in front of Ganapati Bappa privately in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple. And Ganapati Bappa is requested to remove the sufferings of the devotees and fulfill their wishes. The temple receives 20 to 30 mails daily during the year. While from Ganesh festival to Diwali, an average of 150 to 200 covers are received daily. This tradition of reading mail has been going on in the temple for about thirty-two years. And all the mails that come this year are kept in one room of the temple premises. During Ganeshotsav, there is a huge rush of devotees to visit this ancient temple. The temple will be open continuously from 6.30 am to 9 pm.
